I hate putting the damn clip on an O-ring (or in this case "X" ring) chain and … WebbTheoretically the master link isn't any weaker than any of the other links in terms of tensile strength. In reality, still seems like they can come apart for some reason other than installation error. Webb25 juli 2024 · The last time I did this I used an "EK screw type master link" (google that) Just go slow and measure the space between the side plates as you press the link on so that the O or X rings don't get crushed. Supposed to be "better" than the clip type. Get you home and then you could do rivets.
