WebAug 10, 2024 · I have a Gateway DX4860 it has the same motherboard " acer ipisb-vr rev 1.01 " I have tried every which way to update the Bios, I tried updating to the PO3 A3 and put it on a usb flash drive and flashed it using windows , then booting to DOS and tried that. bot ways I got the "File Size Does Not Match Existing BIOS Size" I tried the other Bios … WebWasted 150$ on a new LGA1155 intel i7 cpu only to find out bc acer didn't push a bios update, it's incompatible. You need a CH341A & SOIC8 test clip which will allow you to read/write to the physical bios on the motherboard, you can find these on amazon, you also preferably need linux (Ubuntu is easiest) or shady 3rd party windows software.
